It seems like the stress is never-ending around the holidays. The older we get, the more there is to do this time of year. Holiday parties, buying presents for loved ones and friends, final projects for school, exam season, constant travel – it piles up so much that it can feel impossible to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

In a time where we have almost no time to ourselves from leading such busy lives, self-care is incredibly important to your health both mentally and physically.

Write It Out

When we’re feeling stressed out, sometimes one of the easiest ways to alleviate some stress is to write out what is weighing on us.
Grab a notebook and make a list of everything that is stressing you out. Now go through your list and number everything from most to least important. Laying it all out somewhere you can see it is a great way to identify what is really bothering you.
This form of self care lets you directly visualize your priorities instead of trying to keep tabs in your head.


Tidy Up Your Space

Get yourself an overpriced holiday drink at your local café, take the extra time to get ready in the morning so you feel good all day, eat your favourite meal for dinner tonight, do a 10-minute yoga flow before you get started for the day – just do something for you.
It’s easy to forget to prioritize your happiness when you’re stressed and there are a million things going on. Ultimately, you’re the one who has to go through all of that, so you may as well take a little bit of time to appreciate yourself for dealing with it.

Make Sure To Feed And Water Yourself

This should go without saying – but it’s quite easy to forget.
